Un soir au village for flute quintet and optional string base

“Un soir au village” (Este a faluban) by Bela Bartok was composed in 1908.  It is known for its calm and nostalgic atmosphere, typical of the folk style that Bartok was exploring at the time.  There are two moments with a fast tempo similar to a dance that give an energy of gaiety and more interesting contrast.
