NASYA – ( HERBAL NASAL INFUSION )

Types of Nasya Nasya can be classified into various types based on the purpose of the therapy: Virechana Nasya (Cleansing Nasya) Used to expel toxins from the head and sinuses. Suitable for conditions like sinusitis, migraines, and headaches. Often uses herbal decoctions or powders. Brimhana Nasya (Nourishing Nasya) Administers nourishing substances like ghee or medicated oils. Used for rejuvenation, treating weakness, dryness, or nervous disorders. Beneficial in conditions like paralysis and neurodegenerative disorders. Shamana Nasya (Palliative Nasya) Focuses on pacifying imbalances of specific doshas. Pradhanakarma (Main Therapy) The medicated oil, powder, or herbal juice is instilled into the nostrils while the patient lies down with the head tilted backward. The patient is asked to inhale deeply to allow the medicine to penetrate. Paschatkarma (Post-Therapy Care) Gentle massage and steam therapy are performed again. The patient is advised to avoid exposure to dust, cold, and direct wind for a few hours.
