Description Hot Apple Cider Add 1 gallon of apple cider to a large pot. Place 1/2 Pkg of spices to a tea ball or place spices in a coffee filter and tie tightly with a string. Add spices to cider. Heat and Stir. Do not Boil. 1 package makes 2 gallons. Simmer Pot Pour the loose spices directly into a pot or slow cooker with 6 cups water. Simmer on low to fill your home with all-natural aroma, add water as it evaporates. Watch the water level: Check the pot every 30 to 60 minutes and add more water as it evaporates. If the water completely dries out, the ingredients will burn and ruin your pot. Set a timer: Always use a phone or kitchen timer to remind you the stove is running. Never leave a running simmer pot completely unattended. Reuse it: You don’t have to throw it away after one use. You can turn off the burner at night, cover it, and reheat it the next day (just remember to add more water). Most batches will last 2 to 3 days. Apple Cranberry Cider Follow directions above and add 4 Cups cranberry juice cocktail and 1/2 Cup brown sugar. Ingredients: Cinnamon, Cloves, Allspice, Orange Peel, Star Anise.
