Place the seeds in well-drained, fine compost, cover with some compost and keep moist at regular temperature of 20°C to 25°C. The seeds should germinate between 3 to 5 weeks, but sometimes may take longer. Once the first true leaves have developed, pot on the seedlings in larger containers. Tip: To speed up the germination and soften the hard coating of the seed, prior to sowing, the seeds can be soaked in tepid water for 24 to 48 hours.
