Art Deco Slimline Espagnolette Bolt Antique Satin Brass

This elegant Slim Art Deco knob style is one of our stock ranges of French Door and Window espagnolette bolts, also often referred to as a cremone bolt, it is cast in solid brass. The centre turn operates a vertical bolt set which, when in the closed position, simultaneously holds the door/window at the top and bottom. They look fantastic when fitted as a pair to the inside of double French Doors or Windows. This range offers an affordable alternative to our Premium English-made cremone bolts. While not designed for heavy-duty use or modern sealing systems, it performs perfectly well in traditional domestic settings with lighter doors and occasional use. The fitting is supplied with a matching set of mid and end guides, along with a choice of 3 end-keeps (matching staple, plain flat or plain angled). If required for use at it’s maximum opening height of 2.72m, the handle will have to be fitted in the centre position (Handle height 1.36m). A lower, more traditional handle height will require the bottom bolt to be cut down, this in turn reduces the overall maximum opening size accordingly. For example: A handle mounting height of 1067mm, would lead to a maximum opening height of 2427mm. Please note: Cremone style bolts look great and perform the basic task of fastening a door. However, if there is a need for security, as with most external doors, then additional security locks and mortice bolts would be strongly recommended. Antique Satin Brass is a living finish that is produced by hand. It is unlacquered so it will oxidise as it is exposed to the air, and it will mellow and develop a rich patina with age and use. It can be polished back to achieve a lighter brighter finish or left to age further. This natural ageing combined with the hand-crafted nature of the finish means that there may be differences in colour and detail. This all adds to the beauty, character and individuality of each product.
